BOHEMIAN GARNETS lavish Victorian Pendant of 272 garnets in three tiers

Circa : 1860's

Overall length : nearly 3”. The oval 2” x 1-1/3” ends in “ribbons” of garnets above a free-hanging pendant drop.

Hinged bevel-edge “keepsake” window on reverse.
Complete with original 272 rose-cut garnets in variety of shapes and sizes, all prong-set; tiny dent to keepsake frame covers a tiny glass chip on edge; remains only of a pin hinge and clasp, removed long ago.

Metal : traditional Bohemian heavy gold layered “tombac” (“tombak”) alloy with good patina
