FRENCH HIGH VICTORIAN 18k gold & Hardstone Cameo Pendant /pin Convertible Jewel

As Pendant : Length 3”, bale to longest pendant drop (pin & hinge unscrews; catch folds flat)
As Pin : Length 2-3/8”, from top ornament to longest pendant drop (Pendant bale removable on wire hook)

Cameo : a beauty facing left, carved in triple-banded chalcedony, white on mauve ground, carnelian verso; oval gem 1” x 3/4”, within elaborate gold frame of openwork scrolls, 5 leaf-&-bud drops, gold bead drops and applied beads, and one 3.5mm pearl, set in multiple prongs.
Gross Weight : .433 troy ounce
Hallmarks : Eagle head, struck against countermark, maker mark in vertical losenge “A..L”.
Condition : overall excellent, except loss to one gold 'curl' in openwork border lower left from cameo
