circa 1880's - 1890's; gilded age, in the "Aesthetic" taste. ...  the period when Whiting competed with Tiffany for the finest name in prestige trophies and fine silver. 
 
Original richly gold-lined interior;   
 
campana / modified bell-shape bowl, series of  concentric turnings between bowl, stem and foot 
 
Banded rim is bordered by alternating engraved ACANTHUS & ROSETTE motives, with fine hand-textured details.
