Star of David" cut steel ear pendants

Circa : 1790-1815.
Each star with multi-tier ('full holland rose') cut steel studs, individually through-riveted onto a brass alloy slightly convexo- concave plate. Field is tightly filled with matching cut steels, each with a larger center steel, and a bale with matching larger cut steel.

The early period cut steel stars in their good original condition are especially rare, because they are carbon steel, subject to rust. They should be removed whenever the gold wires are cleaned.

Size, Each height 1” (22 mm) from cut steel bale to star bottom; each star 2/3” x 2/3” (16 x 16 mm); overall length from top of ear-wire, 1-1/4” (34 mm)
