Edwardian 14" Graduated Choker Length Necklace of tiny Mallorca Pearls, each bead handmade in simulation of the rare and precious natural saltwater pearl strands of the early 1900's

Mallorca Manmade Pearls : since 1890, a process of successive pearly emulsion layers beneath a final protective layer, for durability greater than other pearls, natural or cultured or simulant

The subtle variation of bead shapes here, including some of slight "barrel" shape, mimicks variations in the "Persian Gulf" saltwater pearls of the Edwardian era, rare and valuable, before the invention of cultured pearls.
