Blue Sapphires, pair, bi-convex cabochon cut, 5.8 x 5.8 x depth approx 3 mm, estimated each 1.20 carats, bright medium blue, with inclusions typical for the cut; pair 2.40 carats
Diamonds : 32 total ½ carat, vintage single cut, avg 1.5 mm, mostly VS-SI clarity, good white color, F-H range.
Platinum : entire earrings, including posts, are platinum. Gross weight of the pair, .035 oz (without the oversize sterling friction backs).
Earring diameter : 3/8” (9.2 cm)
Construction : converted from circa 1920's tuxedo studs; all platinum including posts (remnants of gold on back where stud backs were attached, at prong attachments); diamonds are bead-set in platinum pinched-collet frame; sapphires each in four short flat platinum prongs.
