Regency, Circa 1790 - 1810,
Cut Steel pendant and ear drops
Pendant, length 2", composed of diagonal openwork square 1" x 1", with corner rosette details, around a center flowerhead of navette shape and round cut steels. Two lower pendant drops are cut in elongated
pear/teardrop shape; center pendant ornament is missing.
Ear drops, each 5/8" pear shape, with elongated pear shape steel surrounded by border of tiny round steels.
Total length 1", from the later sterling screw backs.
All cut steel ornaments are riveted to a system of brass back plates. This type of riveting was discontinued by the second quarter of the 1800's.

marks : The later screw-back ear fitments each struck with Swedish hallmarks, 830 silver, circa 1912-15.
Provenance : said by the previous owner to be inherited from Miss Vermont of 1948
