From the famous royal collection, first edition of the very famous Foulis Press printing of Homer's Iliad. Text in Greek.
Full contemporary Russia or calf, spines with raised bands, gilt labeled (worn), gilt line & embossed borders,

Paper 32.5 x 20 cm, all edges gilt,
Condition : magnificent & rare edition from a royal collection, but needs a little tlc : both front covers and 1st marbled page detached, spines worn, foxing (as shown in photos) to most illustrations and their adjacent pages -- clearly the Duke and his friends mostly looked at the pictures -- most text pages are very clean & crisp, unread to near unread condition.
Nuances of condition are visible in the numerous photos.
