AMETHYST “ROSE & BUD” Jacobite Seal in Gold 19th century Diminutive Pendant Fob
Shield-shape Gem Amethyst well-carved in miniature with the 'Rose & Bud' used by supporters of Bonnie Prince Charlie in exile following the 1741 Battle of Culloden. The bud represents Bonnie Prince Charlie and the rose his father, deposed King James II of England. Many Irish & Scottish nobles and their families continued supporting the Jacobite cause, in exile and secretly, for generations.

In a signet ring originally, this gem carving was most likely reset as a pendant fob in the 1800's
