"OVER FORK OVER*" motto on ribbon, beneath lion sejant & unicorn head (each on ribbon.) Armorial carved in shield shape, white-banded carnelian. Ring 1918-19, 18k gold

Possibly centuries earlier than the 1918 hallmarked ring, the intaglio-carved banded gem has old cracks and scratches --
*Motto is that of the Scottish clan Cunningham, granted by Malcolm, Prince of Scotland, when the first Cunningham saved him from Macbeth by concealing him in straw.
