Antique Georgian Diamonds Ring circa 1800,
18k gold, silver-topped around the diamonds

Ruby : 2.0 carats (weighed out of the setting in 2004), supported by measurements 7.0 x 6.5 x depth 4.35 mm, antique mixed cushion cut (rectangular to oval), saturation strong, medium slightly purple red, very good "VS" clarity, culet off center, various minor srface wear and asymmetries typical of age and type

Diamonds : Eight 3-facet rose cut diamonds, near flat ("lasque") crowns, variously included as typical, irregular to rectangular in profile, 1.6 - 2.0 mm range, total estimated .20 carat;

Ring & Construction : period circa 1790-1820;

The center stone in a yellow gold collet within the circular "ring"of diamonds, each in a silver pinched collet" on a flat gold sheet, cut in a flat round behind each diamond to form a continuous wreath;
the shoulders and hoop are continuous, cut and carved in rocaille pattern of c-scrolls, s-scrolls and waves.

Dimensions of ring : width at top (across ruby and diamonds), 13.75 mm; shoulders taper 9mm to 2.2 mm.
