GREEN "CERILLOS STONE" (Cerillos Mine Turquoise) Silver Ring,

NAVAJO, with "arrows" stamps on the split scalloped flat shoulders & hoop

old pawn, circa 1950-60.

The Cerillos Mine, 10 miles south of Santa Fe,"the only turquoise formed at the base of a volcano" is the oldest North American mine, mined by native peoples from ancient days

Fine large old stone, 1"x 9/16" oval, of vivid deep green, only slightly bluish, with characteristic fine polish & veining (a central fissure of natural veining crosses the surface diagonally, with small chip near center)

The turquoise is collet-set within a masterful border of twisted wire and silver beads above scallop-edge sheet silver back, overall length 1-3/8" long x 7/8" wide
