complete with star-cut glass liners and spoons

Maker : Gustav Memmert for the Posen shop (Memmert was active in Berlin, 1890-1930)
Quality & Maker marks : "925 / M / POSEN" on each tureen; one with additional pattern mark "33"; each spoon marked "925"

Vendor mark :
"POSEN", mark of Germany's pioneer Jewish woman silversmith / entrepreneur.

Brendina Wetzlar, widow of Polish-born silversmith Lazarus Jacob Posen, founded the firm POSEN in 1869, in Frankfurt am Main. Under her stewardship, POSEN became the late 19th century's largest supplier of Judaica.
In 1903 the firm was granted a royal warrant and opened a second shop in Berlin, offering the latest Danish and Austrian styles under the direction of Brendina's grandsons Jakob, Hermann and Moritz Posen.
