Antique American Edwardian "ARROW ENDS" brooch, signed;
Maker : Carter Gough, Newark NJ;
signed with quality & maker mark on the original clasp "14K / "C" in arrow;
Circa : 1915, Newark, NJ
Diamonds : all Old Mine Cut, total 4, one pair full brilliant cut, avg 2.5mm (.125ct the pair); the smaller pair double cut, avg 1.1mm (.025ct the pair); clarity & color range overall SI-I, I-K, all four diamonds together, .15 carat;
Pearls : all full-round, 1/2 drilled, total 8; diameter 2--2.5mm; all observable characteristics are typical of fine pearls of natural saltwater origin.
Ruby : one*, in four beads, 3.7 x 2.9mm antique rectangular cushion cut, depth unmeasureable above gold 'trestle' support; microscopic inclusions characteristic of natural origin;
strong med red, SI, est'd .15ct;
Enamels & Condition : condition unusually fine and all original throughout,
including enamels(patterned in translucent red and opaque white),
original safety clasp, round hinge and pin-stem;
