KWAN YIN (GUAN YIN), “Goddess of Mercy”, solid bronze sand cast (of unusual weight), on two piece circular turned wood stands

Seated on lotus throne, legs folded, hands (folded in lap) holding a pearl; below images of a wheel or sun above a lotus flower; the hood of her robe pulled over her hair, which is dressed in high knot

Height of bronze alone : 9-1/2”
Height including stand : 12-1/2”
Circa : uncertain, perhaps early 20th century casting made in France or French Indochina from a much older Chinese original
Provenance : inherited from a French woman, married in the 1920's to a prominent American architect
