SNOWFLAKE pendant brooch of EARLY DIAMONDS
"SNOWFLAKE" Antique Sampler of early TABLE CUT DIAMONDS & Other Antique Diamonds in a circa 1890 Jewel.
The "Table Cut" was used from the 1500's to the early 1700's -- four of these early diamonds are here, in light "fancy" colors, natural pink to champagne to brown alternating with five other antique cuts
Early rectangular Table cut diamonds (with typical irregular profiles) :
Light Pink, (3.71 x 3.0 x 1.0), .15 carat;
Light brown (3.69 x 3.22 irregular x 1.40), .20 carat;
"Champagne: very light brown (3.78 x 3.22 x 1.0), .15 ct;
darker pinkish brown ( 3.35 x 3.62 . 1.20), .15 carat
Alternating diamonds : old mine cut, avg .3.5 mm / .17 ct; the four total approx .65 carat
Center diamond : .35 carat, light yellow-brown asymmetrical old mine cut
Total of all nine diamonds : 1.65 carats; avg VS/SI clarity except for some edge chips, colors various to near colorless
Diameter of Jewel : 1-1/4"; height 1-1/3" to top of pendant bale.
Gold tested : 14k; gross wt of jewel, .235 troy oz.
