55 ROSE CUT DIAMONDS, "Interlaced Ribbons" in Pinchbeck, circa 1840's
"Romantic Period" early Victorian, circa 1837-45, possibly French, the flat ribbon-like structure interlaced in a cypher of "C" & "S" curves and flower-heads
Diamonds : antique mixed rose cuts, "dutch rose" to "lasque" , variously set in petal prongs, domed collets and bead set; some foil-backed, one of the smallest apparently missing; a visible history of old repairs but sound and wearable; the original long pin-stem is a rare survival.
