IRISH STEM WINES, set of Eight

IRISH WINE GLASSES, Georgian period mouth blown hand cut luxury glass
SIX ANTIQUE IRISH STEM WINES, Michael Andrews provenance.

"Exuberant Period" hand-blown hand-cut IRISH-PROVENANCE early “Flint Glass” (lead crystal)

Each height : 4-3/4"
Circa : 1820's -30's

Mouth blown in heavy flint ("lead crystal") glass, the bowls are deep cut with frieze of diamonds between horizontal double lines, above panels, on bladed knop stems, each above a broad heavy foot

Provenance : direct descent from Michael Andrews (c 1778-1850), founder in 1823 of the Royal Manufactory of Linen and Damask, in Ardoyne, Belfast. Original production was on hand looms, and later the Jacquard method.
In 1838 the young Queen Victoria -- in the second year of her reign – granted him the royal patent for linen damask in Ireland

These have descended directly through the family of Michael Andrews. Heirs have now given us permission to reduce the price.
