A Rare Example from the Highstyle Regency/Early Victorian table :

1830's SPODE "BONE CHINA" PORCELAIN
DESSERT/SWEETMEAT CENTERPIECE 3-tier PEDESTAL CAKE STAND
with its original baluster-form porcelain pedestals

signed 3 places with the 1833 - 1847 "Copeland and Garrett"
mark of the George III Regency Period to earliest Victorian period,

Stylistic attributes that place it in the early years of the period
include the lavish use of karat gold on an elegant transfer pattern of
blue and white chrysanthemums and garden motivesinspired by the Japanese.

In this period Spode was acclaimed for the special porcelain glazes that made possible this lavish use of gold and showed it to advantage.

Diameter 11"
Rare early form, in majestic size, and even more rare for the survival of so complex a piece in overall fine original condition;
two small professional repairs noted in inconspicuous places.

The maker mark :
The 1833-1847 mark appears in three places
"COPELAND & GARRETT LATE SPODE",
-- in blue under the domed base and under lower tier,
and in red under upper shelf.
