Davenport
John Davenport (b 1765) began as a potter in 1785. In 1793 or 1794 he acquired his own pottery at Longport in Staffordshire, England. Earliest marks include “Davenport” (upper and lower case, impressed) which was used only until 1810, when the letters changed to all upper case.
