Sabbath / Shabbat / Shabbes chandelier : placed above the dinner table, to light at sunset on Friday evenings

A form from the middle ages in use through the 19th century in regions bordering the Rhine River.

Exceptionally complete & all-original, with oil & candle options, removeable drip bowl ("godet"), and

accompanied by it's trammel, with matching bird and with ratchets, allowing the fixture to be raised and lowered for lighting

Six original removeable candle arms, each with a bird above scrolling branches, complete with original candle cups and drip pans

Below a ring the stem of bold turnings suspends :

"JUDENSTERN" ("Jewish Star") base of six oil fonts

above detachable original drip bowl.
