17 emeralds (1.40 cts) & 20 diamonds (1.40 cts); all 37 gems 2.8 carats;
vivid & brilliant examples of various early historical cuts
Emeralds : the flowerhead, slightly tremblant, centers
one vivid emerald estimated .75 carat (Muzo Mine type, rectangular step cut of early proportions, 5.4 x 4.5 x depth unmeasureable, medium slb Green, VS clarity, in 8 prongs), flanked in four vertical bands by 15 rectangular antique cushion cut emeralds (1.8 x 1.5mm) and one round, avg, .04ct, the 16 accent emeralds total .65 ct.
All emeralds total 17, estimated total 1.40 carats.
Diamonds :
(A) in the petals, 8 (antique cushion cut & variants) .10ct avg, high clarity vs & white f-h color, total .80ct,;
(B) flanked by 12 (10 collet-set & 2 bead-set at the fleur-de-lis points); six are table-cut, high clarity & whiteness, & 6 rose-cut & lasque-cut, the 12 estimated together .60ct.
All diamonds total 20, estimated total 1.40 carats;
Circa : 18th - 19th century, possibly reconfigured (including addition of pin, hinge & safety clasp) from a larger jewel of the 1700's;
Metals : diamonds in silver, emeralds in gold on gold structure (oxidation due to age); karat untested due to intricacy of design & construction
