Masked Dancer with Antlers & Rattles from the deer dance of the Yaqui (Yoeme) and Mayo people (Sonora, Mexico and Arizona)
Sacred ceremony since ancient days, held held before a deer hunt -- thanking the deer for his sacrifice, so that the people may live, it evolved ino a community celebration of sacrifice during Lent and on the Festa di Guadalupe. The gourd rattles represent the plant world.
