Provenance : ex col Edward Sait (1912-1987), by private purchase from his widow, the late Charlotte Sait. Mr. Sait, an avid print collector, was, according to Ms. Sait, a childhood friend of Henry Miller, and a student of Carl Jung.

Titled “Scirroco” in the artist’s hand – The name for a Mediterranean wind that comes from the Sahara and can reach hurricaine speeds in north Africa and Southern Europe, especially during the summer season. Spelling variants include Sirocco, scirocco, or, rarely, siroc.

She lives in Otricoli, a medieval hilltop town north of Rome, in a 12thc palazetto
on the ancient town walls.
