CARTIER Art Deco lady's Wristwatch with Rubies

CARTIER Art Deco Circa 1930's lady's wristwatch, natural rubies, 14K rose gold

Original Cresarrow case and movement. Cresarrow, founded by Henry Blank in the late 1800's, contracted with Patek Philippe, Vacheron & Constantin, Tiffany & Co. and other fine firms to build some of their wristwatch cases for the U.S. market.

Cresarrow also supplied movements for Tiffany and Cartier. Evidence suggests the company worked in collaboration with C.H. Meylan, a high grade niche manufacturer, and IWC Schaffhausen for production of their movements.

Dial : circular, cream color, signed "Cartier' in black above the hands; black chapter ring, gold applied bar numerals at 12, 3, 6 & 9; gold hands.

Case : 14k rose gold, circular, diameter 2/3"
Signed inside case :"14K / # 013786 with Cressarrow insignia of arrow across crescent C.

Inscription : faint, engraved on back of case, in block letters, "Frank to Miriam / Happy Hours")

Rubies : pair .30 carat, square step cut, each 2.9 x 2.9 x depth avg 2.1 mm, fine intense natural red, VS clarity, flush mounted.

Bracelet : period but not original, gold-filled,

Fine running condition : has not been serviced, hence sold without mechanical warranty, but we have wound, set and monitored it for over a month and found it keeping good time.
