HAMILTON circa 1941 LEXINGTON MILITARY WATCH, Stainless Steel, in original Hamilton Wadsworth case, on dark grey leather vintage strap
original unretouched black dial, subsidiary seconds, white/cream-color arabic numerals and markers
-- an identical vintage watch is worn by J ROBERT OPPENHEIMER (portrayed by Cillian Murphy) in the 2023 film-- this watch was featured in Hamilton's 1941 catalog as rugged enough for service men. Today this rare model is referred to as a military piece although not produced specifically for military use.
Case : original Hamilton-Wadsworth case, serial # H 485390; 28mm (approx 1") x 36mm across the lugs; dial approx 24mm
NOTE : MEN'S WATCHES WERE SMALLER IN THE 1940'S THAN IN RECENT YEARS!

Dial and Case Exterior Signed : "HAMILTON" on dial, below "12", and on back of case between lugs : "STAINLESS STEEL / HAMILTON"
Movement : Hamilton Grade 980, serial number G 326467; signed : "HAMILTON U.S.A. / 17 JEWELS 980 / G 326467"

Condition : keeping great time, although not serviced and thus without guarantee; typical mild wear to dial, hands & to the plastic crystal
